STORE PROFITABILITY ANALYSIS AND SEGMENTATION
Driving Store Profitability
Results: Identified high performance and underperforming stores. Identified ways to improve store performance resulting in direct bottom-line improvement.
Depot profitability analysis and review for a UK Retailer.
Developed a store segmentation model to segment stores based on performance, footfall, competitor proximity, revenue and profit.
Developed a tool to enable better business decision making around store performance and profitability in order to determine which stores to close, grow or move.

BUSINESS TURNAROUND
From Loss to Profit in 3 Months
Results: Increased throughput by 300% within 3 months. Increased Profit by 400% within 4 months. Reduced WIP inventory and lead times.
Business improvement project for a packaging manufacturer, looking at the entire business and focussing on manufacturing to increase throughput and profitability as well as to reduce lead times.
Designed, developed and implemented a management information system and production planning system.
Did a profitability analysis on products based on the current constraints within the business.
Implemented Theory of Constraints and embedded the thinking in the company.
Improved production planning and scheduling.
Changed and improved measurements to focus on throughput and increasing throughput vs. cost cutting.
Implemented a throughput incentive program for workers, which had a dramatic effect on throughput.

MANUFACTURING THROUGHPUT IMPROVEMENT
An Innovative Solution
Results: By Implementing Theory of Constraints and optimising their processes and planning, we increased production throughput with 300% from £1 Million a month to £4 Million a month in six months. The flow of production was increased significantly and the work in progress inventory was reduced. All this were done without any capital expenditures or adding additional people. The alignment within the business was also improved.
The objective of this project was to establish a process of continuous improvement at an industrial manufacturing company. Although the main area of attention was the manufacturing side of the business, all functions impacting throughput were included.
The ultimate aim of the project was to improve throughput by at least 33% within eight months and to establish a process of focused continuous improvement. This process was based on the principles of the Theory of Constraints (TOC).
Implemented a TOC production system and continuous improvement throughout the entire business.
Developed and implemented a Management Information System that serves as a mini ERP system. This system is used to manage their entire production planning and scheduling as well as their inventory management, planning and control. It is also used for sales capturing and analysis and for all management analysis and reporting. The system was designed to improve business alignment and to improve the business processes.
The system manages production, inventory and sales using principles of Theory of Constraints to optimise the system.

VALUE CHAIN OPTIMISATION
Driving Efficiencies Across the Value Chain
Results: Identified and unlocked more than £40 million in savings through commercial and supply chain efficiencies.
Developed a complete end-to-end value chain model that looks at sales, distribution, warehousing and production. This innovative tool allows scenario modelling to determine the impact of business decisions on the end-to-end value chain.
The engagement looked at reasons and root causes for volatility in demand / sales. The impact that this has on the business and end-to-end value chain has been modelled and quantified and scenarios were run to determine the benefits if demand can be smoothed and aligned with real consumer demand / consumption.

RETAIL ANALYTICS
Using Analytics to Unlock Value in Retail
Results: Unlocked significant value through markdown and promotion optimisation
Promotion Effectiveness - Analyses historical promotion effectiveness and improves future promotional return on investment (ROI). Developed promotion effectiveness tool in Tableau.
Markdown Optimisation - Recommends pricing that maximises cash margin while managing terminal stock level. Developed markdown and pricing tool to optimise markdown and pricing decisions.
Macro Space Optimisation - Analytically allocates space by category or by department for every store or store cluster in order to better match local demand.
Store Grading - Determines the right quantity of the right stock for each store in order to maximise full price sell through, and therefore margin.
Store Clustering – Optimally allocate stores to specific clusters based on common characteristics in order to optimally allocate store and determine the range of products for each cluster.
Product Categorisation / Product Performance Analytics – Analytically determine which products are performing and which ones are not. Categorise products based on their performance. Recommend appropriate actions based on performance.

CUSTOMER PROFITABILITY AND VALUE CHAIN OPTIMISATION
Driving Customer Profitability Through Advanced Analytics
Results: Gross profit margin increase of 25%
Customer profitability and value chain modelling and optimisation for a Logistics and distribution company.
Created a decision support model of their end to end value chain to determine current customer profitability and to optimise future customer profitability through operational efficiencies as well as focussing on the right customers and getting rid of or increasing pricing for non-profitable customers resulting in an increase in gross profit margin

OPERATIONS IMPROVEMENT
Identifying and Breaking Operational Constraints
Results: Increased production throughput with 30%. Received an Award of Excellence from the CEO of the company the work done on this project
Operations improvement project for a cement manufacturer
Created a digital twin of the entire production plant using simulation modelling.
Identified business constraints as well as ways to break these constraints.
Completed a business improvement analysis to determine what improvements can be done in their production as well as their internal logistics, warehousing and distribution.
Used Theory of Constraints (TOC) as methodology and used the TOC thinking processes to determine the root causes and the business constraints.
Developed a Simulation Model in ARENA for them. This model was used to identify and illustrate the business constraints and areas for improvement.
The model was then used to test various improvement scenarios and their impact on the business and production. It was also used to determine where the next problems or bottlenecks will be once the current constraints are solved.
The model was then used to determine and illustrate the optimal sequence of business improvements.

REVENUE MANAGEMENT
Revenue Growth Through Optimal Pricing and Promotions
Results: Unlocking 3-5% increase in revenue and 25% increase in ROI
Revenue Management solution for a large global FMCG company
Utilising AI and machine learning to determine the key drivers of demand and to predict future demand
Using prescriptive analytics to optimise promotional plans and pricing decisions to maximise profitability and turnover
Combine internal and external data into a single data model to drive better decisions
Developed interactive dashboards to support decision making
Optimise spend and customer profitability
